I created a fillable form - one of the fields is a 'date' field. On my machine, I enter the numeric date. On my client's machine, a dropdown appears on the date field from which you can select the date. Why is this?

In other words, the date-selection dropdown does not appear when I test the fillable form on my own machine.

The date picker will appear in the latest versions of Acrobat/Reader for fields that are configured with a date format. It is not available with older versions prior to Acrobat/Reader DC.

I will check on the versions I have , and what my client has. One last comment - when I noticed the date dropdown at my client site, the initial date, I believe, was January 2001. Is there a way to set the dropdown to display the current date? Thank you again for your help.

When the date field is empty the dropdown will display the current date.

So... your client’s software is up to date, and your software is old.
