I don't see the "Fallback font for Editing" and the "Default font for Add Text" settings under the Font Options and "check for updates" is not available in Help

How can I set default text size in "add Text" . I do not have the options under Font options, and when I go to Help, there is no choice for "check for updates". Is there a patch I can download to fix it?
