Question

I have a document exported from InDesign that has a color image and text. Printing in photo mode makes the text blue.

The color image was scanned on the printer via Photoshop, and copied and pasted into ID. Text, in separate boxes, added in ID. PDF export settings High Quality Print, Compatibility Acrobat5 (PDF 1.4). Everything else left at default, no standard set. Printer settings (Canon TR8500 series properties) photo printing, matte photo paper, print quality high. Text comes out blue. Changing from”photo printing” to “standard” produces black text, but slightly less vibrant colors in the image. Is this an ID issue or a printer issue?

Try importing it into InDesign and see if that helps. Pasting is not a recommended procedure.

How does the image print directly from Photoshop? If it prints text in blue with your Canon TR8500 series printer using photo printing from the source application, Acrobat is faithfully reproducing what it perceives from the source file. If the image prints with black text directly from Photoshop with those same printer settings, I’d suspect there is some problem with Acrobat.

If you get the blue text printing from Photoshop with your photo printing standards, I’d suspect that the CMY inks that make up the rich black reproduction is balanced too much toward the Blue-Magenta color builds, and is the root of your problem.

    Hope this helps,
