I have a student edition, the computer it was installed on is dying, so I uninstalled it, and want to put it on my back up computer to finish out my semester, and when I do, I get an error half way through down load and then it removes all the files it tried to install, and doesn't do anything else.

Update:  I am up and running!!!!

I tried I think it's #3, where you disable your virus protection (?) I disabled sophos, and the install worked!!!!

A million and one thank yous for your help with this!  You have no idea how happy I am.  I am so not tech saavy, I can barely burn a file to a CD, and I have this up and running to finish my project.  Tears.  I have tears of joy right now.  Thank you thank you.

It does seem similar (not identical) to this entry,so it may be worth trying solution 1: Acrobat or Reader installation fails giving error 1935 on Windows

So I tried #1, and it appeared that it may have gotten a little further in the process (or perhaps I've never walked away at certain points before) However, the final result was that it gave me the same error and uninstalled.

Is it worth it to try #2 and #3 on the solutions?

Oh, and the version should say on the CD, if it's a CD. If it's a download please tell us the name of the download file, it usually has the version somewhere in it.

It is a CD. It is Adobe Acrobat XI Pro. Education Edition.

The error reads

Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly component {98CB24AD-52FB-DB5F-A01F-C8B3B9A1E18E}.
HRESULT: 0x80070422

Could this be because my computer updated to Windows 10 which seems to be the downfall of everything I've tried to do in the past 2 weeks? I'm super frustrated and my project is due Tuesday.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When you send us the error message DON'T USE EMAIL. Return to the forum to post a picture, or type it out (in full) please.

What error exactly? What version of Acrobat did you buy?

It's the acrobat Pro for students.   I don't know what version, it's been 3 ish years.  I'm in a 4year program, and need to get my final papers done.

I will try again this afternoon when I am home, and take a picture of the error message, it's pretty long, and then it just starts uninstalling the stuff it started installing by itself.
