Question

I have a user who cannot combine documents with them being placed into a portfolio

We have a user who can no longer combine documents into one PDF. She was able to do this up until about a week ago. If she combines documents it puts them into a portfolio but that does not help her. If we turn the portfolio option off and she tries to combine the documents she gets an error saying "One or more of your files are PDF/A compliant. To reatin this compliance, go to Settings and choose the PDF Portfolio option." These documents are court documents so I cannot attach a screenshot. I uninstalled an older version of Acrobat that she had and installed the latest one from the Create Cloud app and it still won't work. The PC is Win10 22H2 and is up to date. Any ideas on how to combine documents without using the portfolio option? Thank you.

The error message is correct. If the files were saved as PDF/A the only option is to combine them as a Portfolio, or remove the PDF/A certification (which I'm guessing you're not allowed to do, since these are court documents).
It's possible something changed in how the files were generated in the last week...
