Question

I have been an Acrobat Pro user/subscriber for decades. I have a problem exporting PDF to Word.

I have been exporting PDF calendars to Word docx tables for 3+ years with increasing formatting problems but now it’s got the text wrong and it would take too much time to clean it up.  My subscription is up for renewal in  a few weeks and this is a major part of my client work.  What happened to the export function?  I am still using Windows 10 and Office 2019, but have been granted absolution into their ESP program for this year.  I have tried both my desktop version and the online version. Both create the same horrific files.   HELP!

Do you have any examples you can share? I use the export function every now and then and it does work fairly well as long as the PDF files are “good”. There are some bad PDF generators out there and if you are trying with such a file, the output may be all over the place.

Yes I do!  Original PDF and 2 attempts at export in .doc and .docx.  Thanks for looking at them.

I assume you are referring to e.g. the instances of “MonthlY”. Here is some interesting behavior just in Acrobat: When I select the text “Post 70 Monthly Meeting” and then change the font in Acrobat to e.g. a Arial (or any other font), we are going from this:

    To this:

This illustrates that the issue is not with the conversion to MS Word, but is due to a bad font encoding in the PDF file. Do you know how the file was generated?
