I'm having a lot of trouble saving large combined PDF's. Please help. Using Acrobat Pro

Thank you for reaching out, and we understand how frustrating it is when saving a large combined PDF doesn't go through, whether it throws an error or just doesn't seem to do anything.

To make sure we're on the same page: you're combining multiple PDFs into one large file in Acrobat Pro, and when you try to save, you either get an error message or the save simply doesn't complete, leaving the file unsaved.

Please check the file size of your combined PDF. If it reaches or exceeds 2GB: Acrobat has a 2GB limit for saving linearized PDFs, and when that limit is hit, it can show an error like "The document could not be saved. This file is too big for the current operation." If you'd like to test the workaround for this:

1. Go to Menu > Preferences > Documents.

2. Deselect "Save As" to optimize for Fast Web View.

3. Try saving the combined file again.

A few other details that would help us narrow this down either way:

• The exact wording of the error message when one appears

• Whether you're combining the files in the Acrobat desktop app or through Acrobat online in a browser
