I need to protect several hundreds of documents from editing

Hello, l have one simple question:Is there a way to automate the saving part of the documents once the password has been created to protect any editing of the files? I am working with the latest version of Acrobat Pro but not in an Adobe Livecycle environment...Right now, if l am not wrong, you need to define twice the password to save each document...Many thanks in advance for your help, suggestions and expertise...d
