Question

I opened Acrobat for the first time in a few days today and I have no Recents at all. The files aren't in deleted or anything in the cloud, it's as if I've never used Acrobat (or my whole Adobe account but I only use Acrobat) at all.

Title basically explains what happened. I think Acrobat and Cloud updated but I’m not sure if there’s just an outage or if somehow my account reset with an update or what happened. I’m on Mac if that’s helpful to know and on the desktop app for both. Any way to recover the files would be greatly appreciated

Hi @DJSTERS

Hope you are doing well, and thanks for reaching out. We are sorry for the trouble.

Have you started experiencing this issue recently after an update? If yes, please share the version of the Acrobat Application you are using, go to Help > About Acrobat.

Please try to sign out of the application, reboot the device once, and re-login to the app with your Adobe credentials and check if that helps.

If you have saved the files on the Adobe Cloud, please go to https://adobe.ly/4x36VLS > Documents Tab and check for the files under ‘Your Documents’

Let us know how it goes.

Thank you Amal, yes I did what you said and it didn’t change anything and there is nothing under ‘Your Documents’, it’s completely wiped on the web cloud too. I’m on version 2026.001.21745. When I was researching it earlier, the only possible thing I was able to find is maybe it swapped all of my files from my personal profile to my old school profile? But I don’t have access to that anymore if that is the case. Any other help will be greatly appreciate

Hi there

As you mentioned, your documents are associated with your old school profile, which you no longer have access to. If you were recently removed from that profile, please contact your school's IT administrator and ask them to temporarily restore your access. Once access is restored, you can download your documents and transfer them to your new profile.
