I tried to install Acrobat 8 Pro from my disc on to a new computer, it would not activate, called cust support, they had ne download and install Acrobat 8 and gave me a new serial number to use, I installed but got a message that it could not connect

I tried to install Acrobat 8 Pro from my disc on to a new computer, it would not activate, called cust support, they had ne download and install Acrobat 8 and gave me a new serial number to use, I installed but got a message that it could not connect with Acrobat to register my product, do I need to register?
