I want to cancel my Adobe subscription. The account says I have to resolve a payment issue before I can make changes to my plan, but I don’t want to update my payment method. Please cancel my subscription manually.

You probably will have to get your account up to date. When you signed up, you agreed to a certain payment plan. Usually, the it consists of a yearly plan with monthly payments. This often leads people to think they can cancel whenever they want, however, the commitment is for a year. The cancelation penalty is 50% of the remaining balance. 

If your plan is per-monthly (without a year-long commitment) and you are only behind a payment or two, you can pay up and then cancel without penalty. 

I’m afraid there’s nobody here who can cancel your Acrobat subscription for you. This is a user-to-user forum for folks who have technical problems with Acrobat software. For the most part, we’re end users just like you. We don’t have the power to change Adobe accounts here. You’ll have to contact Adobe Systems directly to make that happen.

On that count, we can’t help you. But my response below may help you cancel your subscription yourself.

Go to your nearest convenience store and buy yourself a Visa or MasterCard gift card. Throw something like $50 on it.

Give that gift card number to your Adobe account. Cancel your subscription. Then buy yourself something with the $50 gift card balance and throw it away.

End of problem.
