I want to create a fillable form with signature fields. I do not want to use the e-signature process

I can't believe this is this hard. All I want to do is create a fillable form where somebody can sign electronically with a created or saved image. When I insert the signature block it makes it a typed field. Only a typed field. Is what I want even possible?
