Version 2023.003.20201 is absolutely terrible!! Who decided to change the UX and UI of this app? It was perfectly fine. Now it's unusable. How does one go back a version? I should have turned off my auto-updates. This is a very dissapointing update in every possible way. Would love some info on my request. Thank you.

I want to thank Kodak for helping me, they gave me instructions how to remove the current version and links to last years version. This version broke multiple plug-ins and so many other issues with how it ran. I cant even use any  Plug ins with a 4k monitor since over a year ago. At least last year the Plug ins would run on Non 4 K monitors. Adobe needs to be more aware of what the users needs are and work with companies like Kodak that have Prepress plug ins that are for printing. Adobe, let us know when this is fixed.

Totally agree - this is a terrible interface, and Adobes blase responses which there was a comparable competitor to switch to!

Agreed ...

And the pages numbers on the vertical not the horizontal don't work for me either .

Agreed. The updated UX and UI is the most terrible update I've ever seen. I've seen a lot of bad updates in both the website and software industry but this is one of the worst I've experienced.

REASON:
-There was no reason to risk changing the toolbar from the right side to the left.
-The page number panel moved from the top to the right.
-The worst thing is, when using certain tools, the All Tool pane gets replaced with the selected tools. (for Edit, Convert or Sign). Basically, this added an extra navigation step which triples the click count for people using multiple PDF tools. For example, navigating Edit PDF to Organise PDF now requires at least three clicks plus self-education compared to the previous 1 click intuitive process.  This is also not consistent with other tools which opens a new editing pane on the right. Same All Tools, but some open up their editing pane on the left and some open on the right. Very inconsistent in not intuitive.

This update did not try to maintain consistency which is critical to maintaining an uninterrupted user experience. The inconsistency in how All Tools function, made the current users face the awkwardness and hassle of re-training. It is almost like learning an almost-new-software to achieve productivity. The increased click numbers worsened productivity.

Basically, Adobe created a new PDF software that feels like a 3rd party software available from the Windows Store.

Conclusion:
It seems like the new update attempted to align UXUI with other tools like Illustrator and made it look cool. However, the mechanism of updated tools (the main ones on the top) is inconsistent with the rest and provides extra hassle to navigate around for users who want to use multiple functions. The new UX design seems left unfinished and incomplete. This level of finish is It is no different from third-party software available in the Microsoft Store.

No offence, I love Adobe software and as a mainstream user, UX-wide, this update is terrible and I just hope this feedback helps.

Excellent review and detailed description of the flaws of the new interface

Let me just add my absolute frustration with the new version. And this from someone who has been using and loving Adobe PDF Pro products for over 15 years. Trying to get the hand tool (simple hand to move the doc view around) somehow enabled, and failing to figure it out, was the final straw. Like others had said, the previous version was intuitive and just worked. This new UX is an uphill struggle for trying to get anything done...

Agree! It's aweful! Why on earth would they replace the file icon on the tab with a star? I used to be able to drag that little icon directly into my email to send to the client. I don't need to favorite it, In what world would I favorte a PDF... That's useless. They need to put it back how it was ASAP!

YES!! Same here - The file icon is awesome. Thank goodness I was able to revert back to the old version and I am at peace...for now.

The new acrobat layout is useless, and we need the old one back. This is not about 'getting used to', it is not user friendly.

Couldn't agree more. The new version slows us down significantly.  It's horrible!

Terrible update!  I can't measure my plans anymore!  It measures in inches only.  I cannot hide the massive side toolbar without the mearuing tool closing!  Who the hell thought of this stuff?  Ovbiously people that don't even use it.  I've been on 2 separate hunting missions with tech support and they have taken over my computer both times trying to find a solution.  Nobody knows why it can't measure in feet/inches anymore.   Now I am on a mission to find another application and cancel Adobe.    Get your bugs fixed in house before you destroy our productivity!

Unreal. If this was beta tested and the testers thought it was good then I think Adobe needs a new cohort of beta testers. I've seen this before with another big company I was a beta tester for. Half the people just said everything was great when there were obvious bugs.
