ICC profiles

Got an error today trying to create a pdf from Autocad:

Acrobat Distiller

Distiller cannot find its standard ICC Profiles. Please reinstall Adobe Acrobat to correct this problem.

I reinstalled Acrobat DC and was able to print the document from Autocad.

Then I tried to create a pdf from Microsoft Word and got the same error.

I have reinstalled. Uninstalled and reinstalled and cannot get past the error when trying to create a pdf from MS Word.

It will not work from MS Excel either. same ICC Profile error. Word and Excel have to be restarted to continue.

How can I fix this?

This answer is a little late but see if lowering the security levels of the Mcros in your MS Office applications that you are currently using as PDF creation tools helps. You may also want to check if the problem is fixed by also uninstalling and reinstalling any Visual Basic Add-Ins and/or Visual C++ Add-Ins.

A user in a previous thread resolved a similar issue by following similar steps above but what really worked for that person was recreating a new user profile.
