Ich habe einen PDF Link auf meinem Desktop, den ich nicht mehr löschen kann. Läßt sich mit Chrome öffnen, aber nicht mehr löschen.

Was kann man da machen?

Hello!

I hope you are doing well, and thanks for reaching out.

Could you please provide more details about the issue? Are you unable to delete just one specific PDF, or is it all of the PDFs? What steps or workflow are you following? Additionally, are you using a Windows or Mac computer, and what version are you on? Do you get any error message when you try to delete the PDF? Or are you trying to delete any page from the PDF file in Acrobat?

If you are unable to delete a PDF file or its icon in Windows because the system reports it as “in use,” even though it appears closed. This often happens when:

  • The file is being previewed in Windows Explorer’s preview pane.
  • Adobe Acrobat or its background processes are still locking the file.

Disable Windows Explorer Preview Pane

If the file is selected in Explorer with the preview pane active, it may be locked:

  • Open any folder.
  • Press Alt + P to toggle the Preview Pane off.
  • Try deleting the file again.

2. Close Adobe Background Processes

Even after closing the Reader window, background processes may remain:

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
  • End any processes named AcroRd32.exe or AdobeCollabSync.exe.
  • Then try deleting the file or icon.

3. Restart Windows Explorer

Sometimes the file lock persists due to Explorer:

  • Open Task Manager.
  • Find Windows Explorer, right-click it, and choose Restart.

If you have a different question or issue, please provide more details. If you are experiencing an error message, include a screenshot, along with the current version of your OS and the installed version of Acrobat, so we can assist you.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.
