Can you please tell me how to identify the sub font in the Adobe acrobat DC (Example: Semibld, Bold, Extra Bold), Check and clear the bug issue in Arobat QC

Correct answer AnandSri

Hello @malik_basha_3112

I hope you're doing well, and we apologize for the delayed response and the trouble.

Adobe Acrobat’s Edit Tool and Touch Up Tool display only the base font name and weight (e.g., Bold), but they do not differentiate sub-weights like Semibold, Black, or Extra Bold—even if those are embedded in the PDF.

To get precise font details:

  1. Open the PDF in Acrobat Pro.
  2. Go to Preflight (All Tools > Print Production > Preflight).
  3. Run the “List embedded fonts” report.
  4. This will show the exact font name, including sub-weights.

If you wish, you can use UserVoice to raise a feature request with the product team.

@malik_basha_3112 if you look at your 'Document Properties' - Fonts, you can see it.

For example, if you click on Command D (MAC) or Control D (PC)

I know the option you gave, but I didn't say this method, this option we can't check the event fonts specified.

I have explain this, When I open the Touch Up Tool or Edit Tool, when I click on the text pdf, it highlights the bold text character, but the text tool does not show whether the text is semibold, black, heavy black extra...

To make this easier to review, I shared a snapshot with the highlight option turned on, with the highlighted text shown in semibold but only in bold.
