image quality when creating merged PDF

Hi there, when creating a merged PDF from only PNG files, those are converted with poor image quality. There are visible artifacts from a high grade of compression.

Selecting ‘Larger File Size’ in the options menu seems to not have an effect on the PNG images.

Does anyone encounter the same issue — and knows how to create a merged PDF with original image quality?

    Was just able to fix the issue; Acrobat preferences did the trick:

    Convert to PDF › PNG [or other file type] › edit settings (see screenshot)

    Here you find compression/ quality settings.
