Impossibility to combine pdf files in Adobe Acrobat!

Dear All, weirdly enough, since today in the morning Adobe Pro has not not allowed me to combine pdf files into one single pdf. It indicates that I need to do that in a PDF portfolio, which however does not work. How should I proceed? I am a Creative Cloud Subscriber!

What happens when you try to merge them as a Portfolio?

Are any of the files you're trying to merge signed or secured?

There appears an error message in each of the files (see screenshot attached), and the combination does not work. This has never happened before!

As far as I know, none of the files is signed or secured.

My configurations regarding PDF portfolios are as follows (see screenshot attached).
