0I get this message when opening a PDF file in Acrobat on Windows 11 PC. Any clues about how to solve it would be appreciated.

THanks.

I tracked it down to the FileOpen plugin which permits the viewing of protected .pdf files. I went to the FileOpen web site and ran the .exe to uninstall FileOpen plugin and the fowp4kbd.api message hasn't reappeared. It had been popping up everytime I opened any .pdf, whether or not encrypted/protected.

Hi @George_Curran6158

Sorry for the troubled experience.

Is this happening with all the PDF files? Have you ever used any third-party plugins with Acrobat?

Please ensure your copy of Acrobat is updated, launch Acrobat > Help > Check for updates.

Let us know and kindly share a screenshot of the message.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
