Question

Initial View

How do you set the "DEFAULT" for the initial view for all pdf documents that I create?  I am sick and tired of setting the "initial views" for each and every PDF that I create.  Please tell me Adobe has a way to set a users preference for creating files with a preset initial view.

What kind of initial view?

Here is my workflow:  after creating each PDF, I choose “properties” and “Initial View” Tab.  Then, I set Navigation Tab to “Page Only”, Page Layout to “Single Page”, Magnification to “Fit Page”, under window options I check “Resize window to initial page” and “Center window on screen”.  This should be automated as a default preference for my output.

Be aware that when you reply by email it includes your private information, which is not allowed here (and probably not a good idea, anyway).

I think the more important question is how are you creating the files, exactly? It might be possible to change the settings of that conversion process to include the Initial View options you want. The only other option is to run an Action (if you have Acrobat Pro) on the files and change them, after they are created. That's not an automatic process, though. You'll need to manually run it each time.
