Inquiry - Adobe Acrobat solution without Cloud Features.

We need to convert certain files from PDF to DOCX and viceversa plus other options, we're aware that Adobe Acrobat Pro offers these options but we require a solution without Cloud Features due to legal documentations as we need to handle sensitive data and we want everything to be kept into our network's organization.

Could you offer some guidance about how we can achieve this?

Many thanks.

Hi, @Caboyer, while you "can" do all those things in the cloud with Acrobat, you do not have to.

As an experiment, I just turned my computer's wifi off, took a PDF document, and saved it as a Word file. I then to  a different word file, and saved it as an Adobe PDF. (For as many years as I've used Acrobat (since Acrobat v. 3), I've never thought to try that.)

If you do not currently have Acrobat Pro, what I suggest you do is to try their 7-day free trial and test it with safe documents (non-legal) to make sure it satisfies your needs.

Because of your net-concerns, in the settings, in the internet tab, I'd turn off "Allow speculative downloading in the background." Also, I'd not use one of the features of Acrobat Pro DC, you can start to read a document that is shared in the clouds, on your desktop computer, then open that on your laptop and be at the page you last looked at. Convenient, yes, but not for your priorities. So do not use "Save in the clouds."

I hope that helps.

Hello @gary_sc thank you for your feedback about this!

The thing is, as we're using this in a company environment we cannot depend on users doing this which is why we're looking for an alternative that gives us the option to use this as something on-prem, especially for the legal department and preferably to administrate certain aspects of it.
