Installation limit error after System Update

Hi everybody,

After upgrading my laptop to Win10, I get an activation limit reached error, when I try to launch my copy of Acrobat X.

But I am not trying to install a third copy on a third computer.

I cannot fix it by removing the previous installation on the same computer; I cannot see it anymore.

Nor can I fix it by managing activations from my Adobe account, where I only see activations for my new Adobe suite, not for the Acrobat X license I purchased previously.

How could I fix this?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Giancarlo

Hello!

I hope you are doing well, and thanks for reaching out.

We have verified your Adobe ID (email) used to sign in to the community and confirmed that you possess a perpetual license for Acrobat 10. Note that Acrobat 10 is now an end-of-support product, and its support ended on November 15, 2015. See this article for more details: End of support for Adobe Acrobat X and Reader X. The activation servers for Acrobat 10 are no longer active or available. Adobe strongly recommends that customers update to the latest versions of Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Acrobat. By updating installations to the latest versions, customers benefit from the latest functional enhancements and improved security measures.

You may try the suggestions from this article and see if that works for you: Troubleshoot activation limit reached or sign-in failed errors for non-subscription products. Try installing Acrobat X in Compatibility Mode. Right-click the installer, go to Properties, select the Compatibility tab, and set it to Windows 7 or 8. Run the installer as an Administrator during the installation and first launch. And see if that works for you.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.
