Installation of Acrobat Pro DC on case-sensitive APFS volumes still not supported?

I just cancelled the automatic yearly renewal of my Acrobat Pro DC subscription. Installation on case-sensitive APFS volumes is still not supported. Please fix this and compensate me for the last 6 months in which I have not been able to use the product by granting me 6 months of usage starting from the day Adobe fixes this problem. Acrobat Pro DC is the only software that does not work on my macOS High Sierra case-sensitive APFS file system. Case-sensitive APFS was the setting recommended by Apple (for sound software engineering reasons) when macOS High Sierra was released to the developer community, and the only reason that Apple suddenly had to switch back to case-INsensitive APFS seems to be that Adobe refused to update it's software to make it compatible. This was more than half a year ago and I still get the same error message after I freshly download and try to install the software. And NO, I will not create a seperate partition just for Acrobat Pro DC when everything else (hundreds of applications) runs perfectly fine on my system. Kind regards, Harald

Regardless of whether you want to call this a bug or a feature request, these communities are absolutely not monitored by Adobe product development and management teams.

If you wish to report the need for support for APFS volumes by Acrobat, please go to https://acrobat.uservoice.com/forums/590923-acrobat-for-windows-and-mac  and do make that report there!

huh... what kind of BS answer and support is this? Adobe is the ONLY application that doesn't work on a case sensitive filesystem.... Adobe should issue refunds and credits for their poor execution and failure to fix this

I don't want to create separate partition either for just Adobe DC. please fix it please.

It is unlikely Adobe will ever enhance the apps to work on these file systems. (This would be an enhancement, because it is certainly not a bug; it is working as designed). Adobe are moving ever more to supporting the majority, and ignoring niche and specialist setups.

case sensitive filesystems are not a niche. Do you know what you're talkign about?

What kind of software doesn't is so fragile that it can't be used on a case sensitive filesystem? Whoever says this is working as designed needs a realit check or a new job.

Yes, here we are, years after the introduction of APFS. Case-sensitivity is such a simple thing to support. Your developers should be paying attention to case consistency anyway, so what's the hangup here? Is this really such an unreasonable request?

I think everyone here would at least like to hear that a request is open and it will be fixed in 5 years. It's pretty frustrating to report a problem with a product you've paid good money for and get an official response of "we couldn't care less".

Almost two years later, how is it possible that this serious issue and bug in Adobe's software is still not fixed? This is unbelievable, I will also not renew my subscription.

Will this issue ever be addressed by Adobe?  I need to be able to sign a PDF document, but it demands to be opened in Adobe Acrobat, which I cannot install....

add a samll partition to your hard drive that is not case sensative

Wyrd_dorel - Unfortunately you also have to make your boot drive case insensitive to allow installation of Adobe software. It's not enough to just add a separate volume.

rolf. Adobe is dumpster trash software.

It's 2019. How difficult is it for one of the biggest software manufacturers in the world to support case-sensitive names? Unbelievable.

Yes, Adobe has state -- since 2015 -- that "Adobe has stated that "You cannot install Adobe products on a volume that uses a case-sensitive file system."

After several contacts with Adobe support, Adobe considers that is is a "Mac" problem and will do nothing to help or enable.

Adobe support persons, Kanish and Sajal,  both wrote to me today:

"The issue is with hard drive of MAC.

We will not be able to troubleshoot it further."

So, we users are in a bind: Adobe is pointing the finger of responsibility at Apple, and Apple is point the finger at Adobe.

What a waste.

I agree with the original poster.  This is utterly ridiculous for Adobe to be dragging its feet for so long on this.

As another poster mentioned, this is the push I needed to finally stop drinking from the Adobe Kool Aid and move on to vendors with more progressive attitudes to their customers and their software.  I guess this is a perfect example of what happens when software suppliers get big - they get arrogant.  Well that's what a free market is for.

Good riddance Adobe.

So I was just considering upgrading from Mac Photos to Adobe Creative Cloud, but my newly installed system has a case-sensitive APFS volume. Better go and try Affinity Photos instead.

Where is the connection to Adobe Acrobat DC?

Moving this discussion to the Installing, Updating, & Subscribing to Acrobat forum.

Haraldk48914010 no Adobe applications currently support case-sensitive file systems.  We have added support for APFS but this does not include support drives formatted with the case-sensitive option disabled.  The advice in Adobe error "Case-sensitive drives not supported" or similar install error | Mac OS continues to be valid.

Please install Acrobat DC, and any other Adobe applications, on an APFS volume which does not have the case-sensitive feature turned on.

Not helpful. Horrible customer experience. I'm cancelling my subscription. Apps don't get to tell the OS how to manage files. Your customer experience is in the toilet. Fix it.
