interactive pdf forms with text fields that expand to fit content and print to display content

Hello - I am using Acrobat Pro to build forms with text fields that expand to fit content. Is it possible to build PDF forms using Acrobat Pro DC to do this? I am able to use Acrobat Pro DC to have the text fields expand to fit what a user types in online, but on printing, the form does not display the contents of the text field. It only displays the scroll bar and arrows.

Should I recommend that my organization purchase AEM or Live Cycle Designer to do this?

Thanks

Mary Ann

No, it's not possible with an Acrobat form. The solution is to set the font size to Auto, to ensure it's all visible when printed.

I would advice against switching to LCD forms just for this feature. You will basically will to re-do your entire form from scratch, and it won't work anywhere but in Adobe Acrobat or Reader. Oh, and you'll need to pay extra to get it, as it's no longer included with Acrobat for free...

Currently this is a feature being considered by Adobe... but we need to upvote it in order for Adobe Softwear engeneers to understand how BASIC and important it is for Form users to have expaning fields!

I'm having the same problem. Then what would be the work around here aside from changing the font size to auto, there are instances that our user used a whole page for recommendations and of course it's not good if I expand my text field as big as a whole page.
