Interactive PDF not working properly in Chrome + Safari but works fine in Acrobat

Hi,

So been doing a bit of research and I see that interactive PDFs can be a pain.

 

I have an issue where I click on a button (many on the cover page) and then another button (well, it's a bunch of grouped elements that looks like a website model box) appears. You then click this overlay/model box to close it and it returns to the main screen. However, in Chrome and Safari it's very sketchy - you click on one and it opens the modal box (button) but I can't close it afterwards and go back to main or both layers/buttons show at once.

 

Any ideas or I'm out of luck?

    Non-Acrobat PDF viewers are terrible at understanding PDF forms and JavaScript actions, which is how the show/hide stuff works under the hood.

     

    If you know you are targeting web browsers then ditch PDF and create your documents in HTML, after all that's what you're trying to simulate anyway. If you need something portable there's always fixed-layout EPUB3.
