Is it possible to move a button field backwards and forwards?

I'm trying to move my button field to the back of my pdf and I can't figure it out. please help!

If you're talking about the z-order index, ie above or below other elements such as form fields or comments, then no, it's not possible.

    I have an image field that is covering a part of the PDF I want to be in front. I wanted to know If I can send the field behind the image I want in the front. Will the field always in front?

    Yes, although you can set its fill color to be transparent, and then the underlying image will show through.
