Question

Is it possible to upload multiple custom stamps at once in Acrobat Pro DC?

Hi there,

I have scrolled through several posts here and have seen the answer to "locate the stamp folder and put the stamps there" but this doesn't seem to work. Adobe creates a PDF file with the stamp images and having the individual images in the file doesn't work. Is there a way, through javascript or otherwise, to upload multiple custom stamps and have the stamp name match the file name? I work for an insurance company and we have multiple state specific stamps that need uploaded and it can take upwards of an hour for an employee to add these individually.

I appreciate any advice or help you can give.

If you have created a set of you own custom stamps, that exists in a stamp file. Then you can simply copy that file into the Acrobat stamp folder on another computer and all the stamps will automatically appear on that computer. And you can change the name of this file to anything you want.

Thank you for your response!

I am glad to know that is a work around. I am specifically curious, however, if it is possible to create a command/script that will automate the process of uploading the custom stamps initially. It seems bizarre that it is not already a feature to point to a folder with stamp images and have them all upload simultaneously.

No, there is no such feature in Acrobat. It would be possible to create an Action script to do this. Such a feature sounds good to you because that's how you are thinking about it.  And it's not a bad idea for handling static stamps. But the most useful stamps are dynamic, so a more important and universal feature for which it is truely bizarre that it doesn't exist, is the abillity to set a shared network folder as the stamp folder, so stamps can be shared over the network. It's also odd that Adobe never created a way to share stamps over the Adobe cloud. Or even a way to easily import a dynamic stamp file.

You can put as many stamps as you want into a stamp file. However, a stamp is more than an image on a page.

Also, the file name has nothing to do with the stamp name. You can change the stamp file name to be anything you want.
