I had Adobe  installed on my computer.  I used it.  It functioned well.

Then I had to wipe the C drive when I had to do a cleaan install of windows.

The Adobe app was destroyed by the clean install.

I have my original installation disc with serial numbers, but it is a non-supported edition ... 5.0.

I think I can't use the old 5.0 serial numbers to authenticate a new downloaded version.

Is that correct?

Your Acrobat 5 serial number was good for Acrobat 5. Not Acrobat 6 (released 20 years ago). Not anything later. Reduced price upgrades ended 18 years ago. If you still have compatible system (such as Windows XP), the disk, a CD reader, the disk still reads, and the serial number - you can keep right on using it. Later versions (7 & 8), they are obsolete and can't be installed.
