Is Sandbox mode in Acrobat really becoming mandatory? No confirmed date found

Could you tell me when Adobe plans to remove the option to disable Sandbox mode in Acrobat for Mac /Windows? I’ve seen announcements that the mode may become mandatory in a future release, but I’ve not been able to find a specific effective date.
