Is there a keyboard shortcut to close the intrusive search box?
Greetings. I am not a creator of PDFs, I am an end-user of PDFs created by other people. What I need is to be able to OCR poorly created documents and then I need to be able to efficiently use the pdf. To use the pdf I need the following: ability to place bookmarks; ability to mark it up (with highlighting or lines); copy and paste, including the DATA from tables (not a picture of a table); and the ability to search. Equally, I need to be able to have two documents side-by-side on my screen without intruding "full search" panels or anything else (other than briefly). I need to minimize my mouse usage due to disability.
Some time in between Acrobat 9 and this thing I have now (Acrobat 2020), the search was moved from the toolbar to a box that BLOCKS part of the document. Someone called this "a minor inconvenience." This change is adversely affecting my productivity because I have to physically CLOSE that box by x'ing out of it in between instances.
Is there a way for me to close this box without repeatedly having to use the mouse? If not, is there a way for me to create one? I can't believe what they have done to this program. I think I will have to find different software on account of this.
