Is there a PDF plug-in that displays percentage of ink based on media size?

I'm looking for a PDF plug in that will display the percentage of ink used based on the media size of the document. For example, if I have a letter (8.5" x 11") sized document and a 5" x 5" solid block of color in the middle of it, I have about 40% coverage. Does such a Plug-In exist? Is this part of a suite of tools, like Enfocus Pit Stop or similar?

Yes, PitStop Pro does feature an optional ink feature in Preflight Profile reports.

This is what is reported for a letter size page with a single 5" x 5" 100% black only filled square:

Ink Percentage Surface

Black 26.74% 25 sq in

Total 26.74% 25 sq in

The report is based on the amount of “white space” vs. “surface coverage”, so on a letter size double page spread, the same object is reported as:

Ink Percentage Surface

Black 13.37% 25 sq in

Total 13.37% 25 sq in

If the entire letter size page was filled with black (no trims/slug adding extra space):

Ink Percentage Surface

Black 100% 93.5 sq in

Total 100% 93.5 sq in
