Is there a way to automate the collection of data from forms?

We have a checklist used by our Prepress people when they are working jobs. We would like to turn this checklist into a form so we can collect the responses to help determine if the checklist's are consistently being used properly and by all employees.

Is there a way to automate this data retrieval into a spreadsheet without a lot of human intervention?

Correct answer Gma_Jo

To export the values from multiple PDF forms to a single spreadsheet use the Merge Date Files into Spreadsheet command in Acrobat.

This still requires to much human intervention. We don't want to have to babysit this thing.

I diid accomplish what we were trying to do by "Distributing" the PDF to a location on our Server. As the operators complete the form and click on the "Submit" button the data is sent back to the folder location on the Server where the files were directed to. The data is merged into a "responses" file and updated as desired. Data can then be exported into a cvs file whenever needed.

Perfect!

Yes, with Acrobat Professional you can export the data from PDF form fields into an CSV file and open that file with Excel and analyze the columns

Thanks but I know I can do that.

I am looking for a way to automate the collection of this data from many forms into an Excel file without so much hands on intervention. We can't be doing this on a form by form basis...
