Question

Is there an issue with MS OS 2010, MS Office 2010, Acrobat Pro X, and the mailto: button?

I am new to Windows 10.  My MS Office 2010 and Acrobat Pro X used to play well together, but now they don't seem to.  I have a form for which I have made a button to send the form to an email address.  On my computer the mailto launches just as I'd expect with a "Select Email Client" dialog box to choose a Desktop Email Application or Internet Email.  The problem is that it does nothing for anyone else that I've sent the form to and we have posted it in a FB page for our class reunion and it doesn't work there, either.

I have repaired MS 2010, restarted computer, repaired Acrobat X Pro, restarted computer, redid the form from scratch and no change.  Any thoughts?

Acrobat X is not compatible with Windows 10, so problems are to be expected.

There are now many different PDF viewers. Each browser, each email app, may have a different one. Windows and Mac users get one out of the box. There are all different and many won’t have wirking forms.  You can’t fix this, only tell people to use Acrobat Reader and explain how to download the file and do that on their computer. You will be their tech support. Also don’t expect it to work on phones and tablets.

I recommend web forms instead.
