Is this the right product?

Im looking for the right program/platform for an ongoing project. I have several work documents that I need to turn into PDFs (which I know how to do), but I need to be able to make one of the sections editable/a section where someone else could insert content - basically like a template.

Is this the correct platform for this? How would I go about doing this process within this platform?

You can add form fields so they user could enter text, make selections, etc., but don't expect them to be able to fully edit it, like is possible with a Word file, for example. They will be limited to the areas you designate as interactive (apart from being able to add comments, which is something different). If that's OK with you, then yes, you can do that with Acrobat.
