Issue emailing directly from Acrobat

I got the default email set (webmail) and everything looks okay.  When I click on the envelope to email a file, the window pops up and then disapears quickly and at the bottom it shows the "Connecting Socket" message and then that disappears and then there's nothing.  The window to enter the recipient's address just flashes quickly and nothing happens, then the socket message comes up and goes away.  Every time.

What is wrong and how can I fix this?
