Issue with the Adobe Acrobat browser extension when using ChatGPT

Hi everyone,

I am experiencing an issue with the Adobe Acrobat browser extension when using ChatGPT, and I am wondering whether anyone else has encountered the same problem or knows whether this is a known issue.
Until a few days ago, the Acrobat extension added PDF-generation controls directly to the ChatGPT interface. I was able to use these to create PDFs from both individual ChatGPT responses and complete chat histories.
The functionality was still present around 23-24 September 2026, but I first noticed that the Adobe PDF buttons had disappeared on 25 September 2026. They have not reappeared since.
The issue occurs in both regular ChatGPT Chat mode and ChatGPT Work.
I have already tried a number of troubleshooting steps, including:

  • uninstalling and reinstalling the Adobe Acrobat browser extension;
  • checking the extension and its permissions in Google Chrome;
  • enabling Chrome Developer Mode and checking the extension for errors that might indicate a problem with the interaction between Acrobat and ChatGPT;
  • searching online for reports of similar issues or recent changes;
  • testing the Acrobat extension in Microsoft Edge as well;
  • comparing the extension behavior and version numbers between Chrome and Edge.

None of these steps restored the PDF-generation controls.
System and version information:

  • Windows 11 Pro, Version 25H2, OS build 26200.9457
  • Google Chrome: 152.0.7977.85
  • Adobe Acrobat extension in Chrome: 26.9.2.1
  • Microsoft Edge: 154.0.4258.37
  • Adobe Acrobat extension in Edge: 26.9.2.0

I also have an Adobe account with an active paid subscription.

I would be very interested to know:
- Is anyone else currently seeing the Acrobat PDF buttons disappear from ChatGPT?
- Is this a known issue with the Acrobat browser extension?
- Has there recently been a change to the extension or to its compatibility with ChatGPT?
- Is the ability to generate PDFs from individual ChatGPT responses and complete chat histories still supported?

Because the feature worked normally until very recently and disappeared without any intentional configuration change on my side, I am particularly wondering whether this may be related to a recent Acrobat-extension update or a change in the ChatGPT interface.

Any suggestions or confirmation from others experiencing the same issue would be greatly appreciated!

    You may want to try a browser that isn’t built off the Chromium engine. I’d suggest trying it with, say, Mozilla Firefox and see how well that works for you. I’ve had good luck with Firefox and its Adobe Acrobat extension. Maybe that’ll work well for you too.
