Issues with Acrobat Export – PDF Preflight Errors

Hi everyone,
I’m facing a recurring issue while exporting PDFs from Adobe Acrobat/Illustrator.
Whenever I export the file, Acrobat shows a Preflight error related to embedded fonts and color profile mismatch.

I’ve tried:
• Reinstalling Acrobat
• Changing ICC color settings
• Exporting using different compatibility versions (PDF/X-1a, PDF/X-4)
• Clearing preferences

Still the issue persists.
I’ve attached a detailed PDF with screenshots, export settings, and the exact error message.
If anyone can help me identify what’s causing this, I’d appreciate it.

Thanks!

Hi @rami_7968

Thank you for reaching out, and I apologize for the trouble you experienced.
Are you experiencing this issue when exporting any file to PDF or another format? This issue only occurs when you export the file to the following versions: PDF/X-1a and PDF/X-4.

If you are exporting to these versions PDF/X-1a, PDF/X-4 and you are getting an error

Core Requirements Across PDF/X Versions:
  • Font Embedding: All fonts must be fully embedded, not just subsetted, so they print correctly.
  • Page Boxes: Defined Trim Box, Bleed Box, and Crop Box are essential for accurate cutting and placement.
  • Color Information: Requires defined output intent, specifying intended printing conditions.
  • No Interactive Elements: No encryption, audio, video, or JavaScript; it's a static, print-focused format.
  • File Identification: A special tag identifies the PDF/X version used.

This always occurs when exporting a file to the PDF format. Please ensure that your copy of Adobe Acrobat is up to date. To check for any pending updates, launch Acrobat, then select Help > Check For Updates.

Also, try the following:

1. Launch Acrobat > Sign out. Close Acrobat.

2. Launch Acrobat and try signing in with your Adobe ID. (Ensure there are no pending updates)

If you are still experiencing the issue, help us with the following details:

  1. Acrobat version installed:   https://adobe.ly/3PQQ7nE
  2. OS name and version.
  3. Screen recording showing the problem.
