Hi @Enchanting_Wish1718,

I’m sorry to hear that Acrobat is taking too long to open PDFs and becomes unresponsive—that can be very frustrating.

Here are a few things you can try:

  1. Update Acrobat – Go to Help > Check for updates and install the latest version.
  2. Repair Installation – From Help > Repair Installation.
  3. Check File Location – Try opening a file saved locally on your desktop. If the slowdown only happens with files on a cloud service or network drive, that could be the cause.
  4. Disable Protected Mode (for testing only): Go to Edit > Preferences > Security (Enhanced), uncheck Enable Protected Mode at startup, and then test.
  5. Other Settings – In Preferences > Documents, uncheck Fast Web View. In Preferences > Accessibility, uncheck Enable assistive technology support.

If the issue continues, please share:

  • Acrobat version (DC/Reader and build number)

  • Windows/macOS version

  • Whether the issue happens with all PDFs or only some

Also, share the diagnostic logs:

To collect the logs:

  1. Download and run the Diagnostics Utility from:  https://adobe.ly/4p6Z3pu
  2. Click on Start Diagnostics. Ensure advanced logging is checked.
  3. Launch Acrobat, reproduce the issue with your file.
  4. Once done, click Stop Monitoring.
  5. Copy the Log ID and share it with us.

This will help us troubleshoot further.
