Javascript not working in Reader

I have a form with javascripts and Document Javascripts. The form, and the scripts work properly when viewing the PDF in Acrobat. But now Reader will not perform the javascripts. Console reports "Doc.extractPages" "An unimplemented or obsolete function was called".

Is there anything different with javascript and Reader that I should know?

Yes. Many of the functions that can be used in Acrobat can't be used in Reader. For example, extractPages is not usable in Reader, since Reader can't create new PDF files.

I thought for sure I tried this particular PDF in Reader and it worked, but I must be mistaken. Thanks for your help.
