Latest acrobat update - doesn't recognize bpdx file as a parameter

Hello, the latest version of acrobat 200155, is not working when is passed a bpdx file as a parameter. This was working in the acrobat update from March 2021 (maybe version 200142 ??). I am launching acrobat with a parameter of C:\test\rebldidx.bpdx" - acrobat does launch but nothing happens.  It is supposed to launch acrobat and then the index dialog pops up and starts indexing some PDF files.  This was working in march but not with version 200155. This the 3rd time this year that an acrobat update has in one way or another "broken" the pdf indexing. Please advise!

Hi JoePIFS,

Thanks for your bug report. The engineering team is looking into the issue.

For now, could you please try out a workaround by applying the registry mentioned in the https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/unable-to-search-text-in-pdf.html#Solution2EnablethePDFindexusingbFallbackOnix32registrykey and let us know if you're still facing the issue.

Also, please make sure that the C:\Users\<user>\AppData\LocalLow\Adobe\Acrobat\DC\Search is clean and doesn't have any .idx files present.

Thanks,

Adobe Acrobat DC Team

Hello, thanks for responding.I  am not willing to apply the patch solution at this point because this would not be the best solution for my clients to use at this point. As fat as the .idx files - there are quite a few .idx files in that directory - I am not sure what these files are used for? I can just delete them manually?

Hi,

As discussed, for now, you may try .bpdx with PM off for now. We will let you know once the known bug, the use of .bpdx file with PM On, has been fixed in our upcoming releases.

Thanks,
