Legal and Letter size pdf printing

Question

I am using an iMac and attempting to print pdf's that contain both letter and legal size pages.  I cannot get the legal pages to print when I attempt to print the entire pdf.  The legal pages will print, however, when I print the individually.  Is there a setting that I am missing?  I have called AppleCare and the printer manufacturer, which is brother.  The printer has 2 trays and I can print both sizes from my HP.  Brother tech support and AppleCare tell me that this is an Adobe issue.  Anyone have any ideas

Which version of Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader are you using, and on what version of Mac OS? What is the model of your Brother printer?

In general, the checkbox "Choose paper source by PDF page size" should instruct the printer to use the correct page size.
