My new printer creates all scans in legal size. I am in Adobe "configure presets" and only option is "automatic". How can I change paper size?

Hi Glenda,

First keep in mind that Acrobat can not do any scanning. What it does is to link to your scanner's software to do the scan. The exception to this is on the Mac as the Mac OS does not allow this linkage. So what is done on the Mac is to link Acrobat to the Mac software, "Image Capture" to do the scanning. (and, for what it's worth, Image capture is a very very sucky piece of software.)

What you need to do is to find your scanner's software and try it directly from there. You should be able to locate the dimensions of the scan and scale it accordingly. Also look for some levels of control. For example, EpsonScan scanning software has three different levels of control: Professional, Home Office, and Auto. It might be possible that what you need is not visible unless you are in the Home Office or Professional kind of mode (your software is likely different than mine so it's very possible that it's got different names, I just put this here so that you were aware of the possibility.

Let us know what you find

Gary,

Since Glenda did not identify her printer type, are you suggesting the the EpsonScan scanning software might work on printers other than Epson?

Thanks!
