Links in this document could not be retained in the converted PDF

I realise that this error has been posted before but I have tried all steps suggested to no avail.

I am using a Mac OS Monterey and am on the latest version of Word for Mac 16.68.

I have a mail merge document from which I need to create a PDF. Normally I use the shortcut icon on the toolbar and that does the trick.

Today I have tried this with no success, I have also tried printing as a pdf and neither does this work.

I have even tried an alternative document and am still getting the same error. https://www.dropbox.com/s/elraws2yxyj2nl4/Screen%20Recording%202022-12-18%20at%2020.16.18.mov?dl=0

I have an urgent requirement to produce these pdfs but am at a loss as to how to do it.

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that. As described, you can no longer convert Word Documents to PDF and get the following error when attempting "Links in this document could not be retained in the converted PDF."

- Is this a behavior with a particular Word file or with all the Word files? Please try with a different file and check

- What is the version of the Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 22.3.20281 (Mac) installed. Go to Help > Check for Updates and reboot the computer once.

Please try to create the PDF from the Acrobat ribbon in the MS Word toolbar and check if that works. You may also try to print the Word file to Adobe PDF and check if that works. Also please go through the help page https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/how-to/create-pdf-files-word-excel-website.html for more information about creating PDFs from MS Office.

Also, go to Adobe Acrobat > Preferences > General > Select 'Create links from URL' > Click OK and reboot the computer once and check if that works for you.

Let us know how it goes.

Regards

Amal
