I have a client who has a document that calculates percentages from income within the PDF, issue is it was made in Livecycle 2011.

When i try to change the document into a Acrobat Pro? it says XFA form cannot be edited using adobe acrobat.

The version listed compatibile is version 9.x, and a bunch of people who need to use this document? says it will not open in their acrobat.

So my question is; how can i either convert this into newer acrobat OR how can i copy the formula/functions into a flattened form with new fillable feilds added that do the same thing? What is the best solution for making this work in newer adobe.

You cannot edit in Acrobat. You cannot convert to Acrobat. The calculations are using a different language. You really have to start again.

You can convert the file to a static PDF file, though, so the layout can be maintained, but that's about it.

Also, if it's a dynamic form you will lose everything that's not visible at the moment of conversion.

You should be able to use the file in Acrobat (and Reader) just fine, but editing it is not possible in Acrobat.

You would basically need to re-create it from scratch to be able to do so, including adding all the fields and the calculation scripts using Acrobat JavaScript.
