How do I lock comments on Acrobat Reader so that they can't be edited by a person other than the person creating the comment?

Hi lesleyc123,

Adding to what try67 has mentioned, you may also check this link Use security permissions to protect PDF files in Adobe Acrobat | Adobe Acrobat DC tutorials

Do you have Acrobat? If so, add a Digital Signature field. When it is signed it will lock the contents of the file and prevent further editing.

Thank you.  What about if I want them to be able to add new comments but not change mine.  Is there a way to do that?

You may try this.

Once you are done commenting a file, you may use locked option under properties of those comments.

To do that go to comments pane right click on the comment> Properties > Appearance and choose locked.

Let us know if that helps.
