Looking for feedback on improving PDF readability and document layout for a new website

I recently started working on a new tech and gaming-related website, and I’ve been experimenting with creating downloadable PDF-style guides and documentation layouts for better readability on both desktop and mobile devices.

While testing different formats, I noticed that some PDFs open smoothly in Adobe Acrobat while others feel slower or harder to navigate, especially when they contain larger images or long sections of content.

I’d appreciate feedback on best practices for optimizing PDFs for performance, readability, and compatibility in Acrobat. Are there recommended export settings, compression methods, or layout structures that generally work best for modern websites and digital guides?
