Lost all work on pdf file

Was working through a large fill-in pdf file on acrobat, and as soon as I tried to sign it, the application crashed, (on mac btw). And now the file has disappeared/lost all its progress which took over a week to complete. Is there any way to regain all of my work?

Check your backup system. Backups are normally used to avoid such issues.
