Lost PDF file with highlighted text

Question

I spent hours highlighting text on an adobe pdf file, but when I reopened it recently, the highlighted portion was gone. I'm not sure if I forgot to save it. Is there a way I can recover it? It would be extremely helpful if anybody has tips to recover it.

Thank you for reaching out, and sorry about the trouble caused.

If the highlighted portion has been removed, there is nothing much that can be done. There is no option to recover the changes made.

If you forgot to save the option, ensure that you select the pop-up that appears to restore the last version once you launch the application. Also, enable the option "restore from the last session": https://adobe.ly/4ot953A.
