Low CPU usage

Hi there,

 

Is there any way to make Adobe Acrobat DC Pro use more CPU to process tasks / multithread tasks? I have documents that have 10,000+ pages and need Acrobat to make full use of my CPU to speed things up. It only ever uses about 18%.

 

Other products allow multithreading. It appears that Acrobat does not? 

 

Any other settings that might speed things up?

    Acrobat does not multithread. It is an end user tool for low volumes, if you want to do industrial processing I suggest you look for an industrial tool.

    Acrobat DC Pro is hugely bloated. It is painfully slow. It's also very
    overpriced. If it wasn't for a couple of third party plugins that only
    work with Acrobat then I wouldn't use it at all.

    PDF Xchange Editor is a better product, is only about $50, does everything
    that Acrobat can do, and utilises multithreading so tasks like OCR take
    very significantly less time.

    Even with a small job of say 50 pages, why would Adobe not want it's users
    to be able to do that in 2 minutes instead of 10?

      Unfortunately, no.

       

      Adobe, if you really care, please fix this. Many people use Acrobat Pro DC and would love to see multiple cores and threads utilized for OCR work.
