Mac - Acrobat Pro DC & Acrobat Pro 11 - Cannot export tagged pdfs

Hello,

I have both Acrobat Pro 11 and Acrobat Pro DC (2017 continuous) installed on my mac. I am attempting to export PPTX files as tagged PDFs, but am having no luck. I do not get a CreatePDF ribbon in any of my Office applications. If I try to use the Create PDF feature in Acrobat Pro DC, it opens the doc in PowerPoint etc, but then immediately it all disappears. If I try to re-run it, it tells me a file is already converting. It never finishes converting or offers me a status bar.

If I use the batch processor in Acrobat Pro DC, it will create a PDF, but it is untagged.

I know using the website https://cloud.acrobat.com/convertpdf will allow for conversions, but it requires a paid account which my institution does not have. As I have both Pro versions of Acrobat, surely there is a solution? Thanks!

Best,
Robert

ey Robert,
I’ve run into similar issues before on my Mac. One thing that worked for me was using PowerPoint's built-in Save As PDF option and making sure document structure tags are enabled under "Options." Acrobat sometimes skips tagging unless it's set up just right.

Also, I’ve shared a few workarounds and tips that helped me on my blog: https://scmapk.com/  — might be worth a quick look. Hope it helps!

Using PowerPoint Online, I am able to export as a tagged PDF.
